1. Steelers could package a player in a trade to move up in the NFL Draft

Perhaps the sneakiest trade the Pittsburgh Steelers could make this year might be one involving a player. Typically, teams are far more interested in draft capital when moving up or down in the draft. The players the Steelers could throw into a package wouldn't alter things much, but it might be enough to sweeten a deal.

Kevin Dotson, for example, is a player who could be thrown into a trade package to help the Steelers move up a few spots (maybe on Day 2). Dotson has started 30 of 39 games for Pittsburgh and is still on a rookie contract, so he could at least be interesting for a team in need of stable guard depth.

Obviously, throwing a low-level starter in with a trade isn't going to move the needle much, but even if it sweetens it just a bit for the opposing team, it may be worth doing for a player who isn't expected to see the field.

This does seem like the most unlikely type of trade the Steelers could potentially execute during the 2023 NFL Draft, but it's not out of the question. Keep your eyes peeled, as things will be unfolding fast once the draft kicks off.
