4 takeaways from Steelers sloppy win vs. Browns in Week 2

4. Steelers fans should be concerned about Kenny Pickett
By far the most disheartening takeaway of all is that Pittsburgh Steelers fans have more than enough reason to be concerned about quarterback Kenny Pickett. After a remarkable summer in which he earned a perfect passer rating during the 2023 preseason, fans were sky-high on Pickett entering the season-opener. However, his performance over the past two weeks has raised far more questions than answers.
Pickett had arguably the worst game of his career in Week 1 against the 49ers. Despite playing his second straight home game to open the year, Pickett looked almost equally as bad against the Browns on Monday Night Football.
Pickett showed spotty accuracy, made poor decisions with the football, and looked skittish in the pocket. By the end of the night, Pickett's offense scored just 12 points while converting just 4 of 14 third-down plays and managing a cringeworthy 4.8 yards per play, according to ESPN stats.
This is not at all the start that most fans fantasized about for Kenny Pickett in his second NFL season. The second-year quarterback really needs to turn things around in a hurry if the Pittsburgh Steelers are to have any sort of stability on offense this year. Pickett is meant to be the future of this franchise. Right now, he certainly isn't giving us much confidence to believe that he will be that guy.
