One of the most exciting times for the NFL world is the schedule release. It has seemingly become a spectacle as the league tries to keep its relevance even during some of the slowest times of their calendar.

Once free agency and the draft passes, there is normally a gap in the news for a while. The NFL changed that up by having the schedule release become a bigger thing than it is. Many fans will look at the upcoming campaign for their respective ball clubs and decide how to travel to games.

The Steelers have one of the easier schedules this season, but that does not mean it will be a cakewalk. They will have plenty of challenges in front of them before they can even think about the post-season or Super Bowl in the future.

Week 1: 49ers vs Steelers, Sunday, September 10th at 1 P.M.

Might not be a tougher test to start off your schedule than taking on a team like the San Francisco 49ers. They got the whole way to the NFC Championship with Brock Purdy at the controls before he got injured and the Eagles derailed their Super Bowl hopes. This 49ers club is still going to have a dominant defense, but the question mark at quarterback remains for now.

Finally, the Steelers will be kicking off the season in their home stadium for the first time in many years. It is going to be a huge litmus test in Week 1 to try and gauge how well Pittsburgh can hang with a top-tier team like San Francisco. Week one provides many different outcomes as clubs around the league take a while to get into form.
