4. Deonte Banks impressed the Steelers at the Combine

One of the biggest workout warriors of the week, Deonte Banks was trying to distinguish himself in what seems to be a very deep cornerback draft class. While he lacks the hype that the top names possess, Banks seemed to spark some conversation after he tested through the roof at the combine.

He has the size you want in an outside cornerback as well as the physicality to play press coverage and take on outside receivers. He does have some consistency issues as well as some injury concerns, but he showcased just how elite of an athlete he is. If he can become a more consistent player on defense, the sky is the limit for Banks.

If the team opts to address the cornerback room on day two, Banks would be a logical option assuming the team wants an outside player. He wouldn’t be ready to start right away, but he can sit and develop behind whomever the team has aboard. Once Banks gets more consistent, he should become a quality starter for this defense.
