5 NFL Combine studs who must be on the Steelers radar

2. Darnell Wright was a surprising combine darling
A name that has been linked to the Steelers early in this process, Darnell Wright is a mountain of a man that used his size to overpower players in college. His play is rough around the edges, lacking great technique at times, but he knows how to win at his size. That said, I wasn’t expecting a dynamic athletic showing from him this year.
I was pleasantly surprised when he measured in at his expected size and showcased some rare physical traits. From surprising speed and burst to great explosion numbers, Wright did far better than I expected. I was curious if his athletic profile would make him a viable tackle, but he seems to have proved that he would be a fit there.
His measurements also test out as an elite guard, which could end up being his best position long-term. The Steelers could use upgrades at both spots though, and Wright has to be firmly on their radar heading into the remainder of the draft season. His technique can be hit or miss, but Wright has the makings of a viable lineman in the NFL.
