2. Steelers fail to earn a playoff win for the 7th straight year

As bad as losing T.J. Watt would sting, one thing Pittsburgh Steelers fans simply cannot stomach is the disgusting lack of playoff success in recent years. Mike Tomlin's team has only made the playoffs twice in the past five seasons and they have been humiliated in both of their showings over that span.

This team hasn't won a single playoff game since following the 2016 season where they defeated the Dolphins and Chiefs. This was before Patrick Mahomes was even drafted, and the Steelers haven't come close to sniffing a Super Bowl run since then.

Though Tomlin's job will be secure, going seven straight years without a playoff win is sure to throw fans into a tailspin. For a team that prides itself on Super Bowl wins and post-season accolades, This is a long stretch to go with nothing to show for it.

The Steelers need to capitalize on the prime years of having a defensive trio like T.J. Watt, Minkah Fitzpatrick, and Cameron Heyward. Getting knocked out in the first round of the playoffs will no longer pass as a successful season with this fan base. We need to see more post-season success.
