Steelers will be all over Amarius Mims

The tackle class is extremely talented at the top, and Pittsburgh would be wise to invest in the room again even after drafting Broderick Jones in the first round last year, adding another early-round tackle makes sense given the depth and talent early in this draft.

While not my favorite prospect in the class, Amarius Mims has all of the traits to be an elite blocker. There were some questions about his size. We knew he would be big, but if he was too big, there would be questions about his fit and ability to play long-term. Instead, Mims had the height and length you want, but he weighed in at a lean 340 pounds.

He tested well as an athlete all things considered. At his size, he wasn’t going to blow anyone away with his speed, but he tested as a plus athlete and looked the part in college. Question marks about his lack of playing time are there, but you have to be intrigued by the traits Mims brings to the table.

The combine allowed quite a few offensive players to shine as potential pro prospects. While not every combine star should intrigue the Steelers, these five names need to be on a shortlist for targets on their offense. They fit the profile that this team likes and all of them rocked their respective drills in Indianapolis.
