#2 Najee Harris RB

In 2021 Harris’ rookie season, he was one of the better players to have on your fantasy football team. He put up close to 392 points and averaged 23.1 fantasy points a week. He had one of the best seasons by a Steelers running back in about 3-4 seasons. He had 1200 rushing yards, 10 touchdowns, and 74 receptions for 467 yards. More than enough production. He didn’t have many long rushes or make big plays, but he maintained his consistency throughout his rookie year.

His 2022 season, though, did not go as well as he had hoped. A nagging foot injury hampered him for the first several weeks of the season, and the offensive line failed to open holes until the bye week; he was underutilized in the passing game, and thus his production suffered. He only scored 299.3 fantasy points, another massive decrease, but in his case, it had nothing to do with him playing poorly; you just had the combination of his injury and a porous offensive line.

There is little doubt that in 2023 fantasy team owners should see his fantasy production go back significantly. He may not get back to the 400-point range, but he could hit the 350-360 range. When adding a player to your fantasy roster, you are looking to add players who, when you start them, will average 15-plus points. If Harris only needs a slight rebound to get back into averaging 20 points a week.

The reason he rebounds is he should be healthy from day one. If he is not struggling with an injury, that’s half the battle. Plus, the offensive line is not vastly improved with the addition of Broderick Jones and Darnell Washington. They should open some huge holes for Najee. Thus you might see him rattle off longer runs, putting him closer to his 2021 rushing total mark.

No fantasy owner will go wrong with adding Harris to their team, either in a dynasty league or a redraft league. Now if you have the number one overall pick, well, there are 3-4 you might take over him, but if you’re drafting 3rd and up and he is available, grab him; you won't regret it.
