Other Steelers draft options

isn’tFor the sake of argument, let's assume the Bears, Titans, Jets, Patriots, Commanders, and even the Eagles at 10 all decide to grab tackles and corners. Then how could the Steelers react? If all of those teams take players they were targeting, then maybe Omar Kahn just takes the approach of the best player available and goes an unconventional route. Perhaps they then target Jordan Addison or Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Giving additional weapons to Kenny Pickett isn’t the worst idea.

They could surprise everyone and take Michael Mayer. Since they have Pat Freiermuth it would be a pick no one sees coming. Yet it still provides offensive line help, gives Pickett another valuable weapon, and allows the Steelers to run a double tight end set that could scare most secondaries.

Another option could be to target an edge rusher or a defensive lineman if the corners or tackles they want are not available, like Lukas Van Ness, Calijah Kancey, or Bryan Breese on the defensive line. Or they could then target Nolan Smith or Myles Murphy at the edge.

While it’s likely the Steelers will end up with either a tackle or corner, whoever they take will be determined by the Bears, Titans, Jets, Patriots, and Commanders. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out on draft night.
