- The NFC South should be scared of the Steelers

1. Carolina Panthers
You won't find many NFL teams that win upwards of 85 percent of their games against a particular opponent, but that's what the Pittsburgh Steelers have done historically when facing the Carolina Panthers. Context does matter here. Like the Buccaneers, the Panthers are an uncommon opponent that this team faces just once every four years.
It's also worth noting that the first matchup between the Steelers and Panthers didn't take place until December of 1996. With just 8 total games played between these two teams, this is hardly a rivalry. However, it's still impressive that Pittsburgh has been able to come away with a 7-1 record.
This gives the Steelers an eye-popping win percentage of 87.5 percent when facing his uncommon opponent. Their most recent victory came in a 24-16 win over Carolina in 2022. Prior to that, Mike Tomlin's team had the gas pedal floored in 2018 when they stomped on the Panthers in a 52-21 blowout win.
Additionally, the Steelers have won 7 straight games against Carolina, and their only loss to this team in franchise history came back in a 14-18 defeat in 1996. Outside of that, Pittsburgh has run away with their victories against this opponent as most games they have had a comfortable lead. Eight games is a small sample, but the Steelers have owned the Panthers in their head-to-head matchups.
