Steelers could sign CB Grant Haley

If the Pittsburgh Steelers are willing to take a flyer on a younger, fresher, and more athletic slot cornerback, Grant Haley is a worthwhile gamble. The former Penn State product is just 5'9 1/4'', but has a thick frame at 190 pounds. He also put up some thoroughly impressive speed and agility numbers coming into the NFL with 4.44 speed, a 3.94 3-cone, and a blazing 6.51 shuttle, per Mockdraftable.com.

This speed and quickness can be seen on film, but his opportunities have been limited in the early portion of his career. Haley played over 850 snaps in his first two seasons with the Giants, but his usage has gone down since then.

Last year with the Rams, Haley had a limited role -- earning 129 defensive snaps in just 4 games. Haley is far from a sure bet to be the answer at the slot cornerback position, but he graded out very well despite limited usage.

Grant Haley is an athletic slot cornerback who could revive his career in Pittsburgh if given the opportunity, and the Steelers could sign him to a veteran minimum contract. He might be worth giving a look, and with the lack of depth at the position, there's a chance he wins the job as the guy who replaces Arthur Maulet's role in 2023.
