EDGE is another top priority that still needs to be addressed in the draft

Outside linebacker is a position that has been put out of the spotlight for some time regarding the Steelers coverage of the draft. It might not seem like the biggest need on the board for this organization with both Alex Highsmith and T.J. Watt returning with a full bill of health, knock on wood. Depth behind them is scarce and this team needs to find a way to solve the issues behind the two stars at the position in case of injury.

Investing in an edge rusher on day two seems like a good possibility of happening for this club. They have shown a ton of pre-draft interest in this class and could target one early. Plenty got over drafted on night one, but there are still some quality names available. Nick Herbig stands out as an obvious choice for Pittsburgh as he fits all of the physical traits they look for and has family ties with his brother Nate Herbig signing earlier in free agency.

As mentioned earlier, this franchise has been putting a lot of scouting time into dissecting this draft class of outside linebackers. A couple of other names that could have their name called to the steel city today include Keion White or Tuli Tuipulotu. Both had pre-draft visits with the black and gold and would be upgraded over the current depth pieces currently on the roster.
