Jersey #82 John Stallworth

Another Jersey number that honesty should have been retired or pulled from circulation. But again, the Steelers can’t do that with every number. Regardless of who wears this jersey, they will be compared to John Stallworth, one of the best wide receivers of all time, or, to be fair, at least in the ‘70s. His speed and big play abilities made him a major factor in why the Steelers offense was so good in the ‘70s. Without Stallworth, the Steelers would never have won four Super Bowls. That’s a fact.

Jersey #83 Heath Miller

Heath Miller would have to be the player here, although possibly you could make a case for Louis Lipps. When it comes to tight ends, there are elite tight ends, and there are average tight ends. Heath Miller was in that gray area in that he was highly underrated as a tight end. Perhaps Miller was not the wide receiver type like Travis Kelce. Still, Kelce only averages about a yard per reception, better than Heath Miller.

Of course, Miller was perhaps one of the best blocking tight ends too, and you can not quantify blocking with statistics. It would be fair to say Miller was great because he was an all-around tight end because he excelled in blocking and was Big Ben’s go-to guy when he needed a completion. It will be a while before another player identifies with this jersey.
