Jersey #7 Ben Roethlisberger/ Jack Kemp
As mentioned previously, this Steelers Jersey, for the foreseeable future, will be linked with Ben Roethlisberger. It should be in that he played 18 seasons and is easily one of the top 10 quarterbacks of all time. Despite that, it will have a lesser tie to another former NFL great quarterback and famous politician.
In 1957Jack Kemp Played for the Steelers as a rookie. For his rookie season, Kemp wore #7 for the Steelers; however, they later switched him to #18. for the Steelers. As the Steelers did with great quarterbacks, they discovered they normally got traded. After the Steelers traded Kemp, he played in seven pro bowls, was a two-time all-pro, and won two championships in the AFL before the league merged with the NFL. After retirement from football, he then began his career in politics.
Jersey #8 Tommy Maddox/Kenny Pickett
Only seven players have worn number eight. Of those one is Tommy Maddox, who played from 2001-2005, only to be replaced by Big Ben. Currently, Kenny Pickett is wearing the number. While it would have to go to Tommy Maddox by default, there seems to be a high chance Kenny Pickett will have the honor of #8. So, let’s make this a reader's choice until Pickett gets a few years under his belt.
