Steelers missed out on Kyzir White

The Steelers had a big need at linebacker this offseason, and while they got two decent players on affordable deals, I believe they could have done way better for similar money. I will be the first to say I was shocked that Kyzir White only got a two-year deal averaging 5 million a season. He has always been a solid player and was coming off his best season with the Eagles.

White is one of the best coverage linebackers in the NFL. That makes sense given his collegiate career was at safety and he converted to linebacker once he got to the pros. His run defense was his main weakness, but he took strides there last season with the Eagles and looks like a complete player.

The deal he signed is incredibly cheap and easy to get out of if need be. White will likely be close to an every-down starter with the Cardinals, and if he makes the type of impact he did with the Eagles, he will easily outplay his contract. This is a deal the Steelers should have been all over.
