The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted the Buffalo Bills for a joint practice on August 15. Now it's time to put this practice to the test. Mike Tomlin's team is about to lace for Week 2 of the NFL preseason as they host the team that knocked them out of the playoffs last year.

Thanks to franchise quarterback Josh Allen, Buffalo is expected to be one of the top contending teams in the AFC again in 2024. For both the Steelers and Bills, this Week 2 preseason contest will act as their dress rehearsal. Starters are expected to suit up and play in the first half as both teams will use this game to gauge their preparedness before letting their starters rest in the preseason finale next week.

Game Details

The Steelers will host the Bills at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Saturday, August 17 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Coach Tomlin expressed in his pre-game press conference that he intends to play the starters 'roughly' four series in this preseason contest.

Tomlin also noted that veteran quarterback Russell Wilson will start this game before Justin Fields enters the contest. After missing the first preseason game against the Texans with a calf injury, Wilson will suit up for his first exhibition contest as a member of the Steelers as he looks to hang onto 'pole position' of the starting quarterback job in Pittsburgh.
