It's only preseason, but the Pittsburgh Steelers have not been as advertised. Despite changes at quarterback, offensive coordinator, and the offensive line, Mike Tomlin's team has not shown the ability to move the chains consistently or put points on the board.
The Steelers are still looking for their first touchdown of the pre season as we enter their exhibition finale against the Detroit Lions, and Pittsburgh will be looking for much better results this time around. The fanbase needs a reason to be optimistic heading into the 2024 season and we are hoping to find that today.
Game Details
The Steelers are in Detroit to face the Lions at Ford Field on August 24. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time today. Coach Tomlin intends to play most of his starters in the preseason finale, and how long they play could depend on their performance.
Quarterback Russell Wilson is expected to start this contest. This will be only our second look at Wilson in exhibition action. The veteran missed Week 1 of the preseason with a calf injury. In roughly two quarters of action last week, the veteran quarterback was unable to lead the Steelers to a scoring drive.
