How to Watch Steelers vs. Falcons in NFL Week 1 with and without cable
By Tommy Jaggi
The preseason for the Steelers wasn't everything we dreamed of. Fans suffered through low-scoring performances and struggles of 2023 first-round offensive tackle Broderick Jones and Pittsburgh's quarterbacks. But that's all in the past, and this team received the wake-up call they needed before the season opener.
In Week 1, the Steelers have a matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. Mike Tomlin has fared well against the Falcons during his tenure as Pittsburgh's head coach, but this is a different team that now has QB Kirk Cousins leading the charge.
Though this isn't the vital AFC North matchup in the season-opener that we are used to seeing, this out-of-conference Week 1 matchup is one fans won't want to miss.
How to watch Steelers vs. Falcons on TV:
Fans can watch the Steelers vs. Falcons game on FOX in the early window. This game will be broadcast on FOX in the Pittsburgh and Atlanta viewing areas. You can check to see which game will be in your area using the viewing map from 506 Sports.
Depending on where you live in the continental United States, some fans will be getting Vikings vs. Giants, Titans vs. Bears, or Panthers vs. Saints instead of the Steelers game on their FOX station on Sunday.

Fans can also watch the game on streaming services that carry FOX, like Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, and Paramount+. These platforms will show the FOX broadcast from your viewing region.
Steelers vs. Falcons game details:
- Location: Mercedes-Benz Stadium
- Kickoff time: 1:00 p.m. ET
- Last matchup: December 4, 2022 (19-16 Steelers win)
Because the Steelers and Falcons are uncommon opponents from opposite conferences, these teams meet just once every four years in the regular season. Mike Tomlin has only faced Atlanta four times in the regular season since becoming Pittsburgh's head coach, but he is 4-0 in these games.
The Steelers are also undefeated under Tomlin when facing a head coach on a new team in Week 1. These factors could give Pittsburgh a competitive edge, but the Falcons have home-field advantage to begin the season and a new quarterback leading the charge. Kirk Cousins was the hottest name on the 2024 free agent market, and he will look to earn his paycheck in the season-opener.
A loss in this contest won't impact Pittsburgh's division or conference record, but it would be an early setback for a team in arguably the toughest division in the NFL this year.
