The Pittsburgh Steelers should have quarterback Kenny Pickett in Week 9 against the Tennessee Titans, as he clarified that he intends to play on Thursday.

Pickett exited the team’s loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week with a rib injury, and now the Steelers have a quick turnaround on Thursday Night Football against Tennessee.

If Pickett suffers a setback and is forced to sit, Mitch Trubisky would get the nod at quarterback. He threw for 138 yards, one score and two picks in relief of Pickett last week.

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is considering Pickett to be a game-time decision for Week 9, but the quarterback himself said he plans to play.

It is likely that the young quarterback will be listed as questionable on the team’s final injury report this week.

Best Steelers prop bet for Week 9 vs. Titans

Steelers team total UNDER 19.5 points

Even if Pickett plays, the Steelers offense hasn't been great this season. If Pickett somehow sits, Trubisky didn’t inspire much confidence last week, throwing two picks and one touchdown after replacing Pickett.

I’m not sure that I can pick the Steelers to score 20 or more points in this game, especially since the team has four games already this season where it has failed to clear that number. The defense has also helped out a ton in other weeks to get the Steelers over 20 points.

Pickett is the better option at quarterback, so if he plays, this prop may be a little more volatile.

Kenny Pickett injury history

Last season, Pickett dealt with multiple concussions for the Steelers, but this rib injury may be the most significant non-head injury that he has dealt with.

Pickett played through a bone bruise in his shin earlier this season, and he seems like he will try to play through this rib ailment as well.

When is Kenny Pickett coming back?

Pickett appears to be on track to play on Thursday against the Titans. If he ends up being unable to go, he will have 10 days off before the team faces the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 12.
