Great draft capital can go a long way in reshaping a franchise. Every team is issued with seven selections in the draft before trades and the compensatory alters that number. With additional draft capital over the years, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been able to land players they otherwise wouldn't have had the ability to pick like James Conner, Kelvin Beachum, and even Antonio Brown.

Thanks to the Kevin Dotson trade last offseason, Pittsburgh now owns the Rams' fourth-round pick. However, the Steelers are without their fifth-round pick after swapping it as part of the deal for Dotson. This will prove to be roughly a 35-spot increase in draft positioning.

We won't know the exact number of each selection until all compensatory picks are assigned, but here is every selection Pittsburgh is set to have in the 2024 NFL Draft, according to Tankathon.com.

Every Steelers 2024 draft selection:

  • 1st round
  • 2nd round
  • 3rd round
  • 4th round
  • 4th round (via LAR)
  • 6th round
  • 7th round

The first three rounds are set in stone for the Steelers -- barring a trade to move up or down in the draft. Following their elimination from the Wild Card round of the playoffs, Pittsburgh was locked into the 20th overall pick in the NFL Draft this April. Only one other team that made the playoffs (the Los Angeles Rams) will have a higher selection.

The Steelers held the exact same selection in the first round almost three years ago when they selected Kenny Pickett. Now it's possible that Pittsburgh could try to erase history by taking a quarterback with that pick (though it seems likely they will go a different route).

Omar Khan will own three of the top 85 selections in the draft this year. Ironically, their two picks in the fourth round will be back-to-back selections thanks to the Steelers and Rams finishing right next to each other in the final standings. Assuming this capital isn't traded, this should make for a fun start to Day 3 of the NFL Draft. Pittsburgh will have time to scope out the remaining talent entering the final day of the draft and take two remaining players that they love in one fell swoop.

Don't be surprised to see the Pittsburgh Steelers move up or down on draft day. Omar Khan has been aggressive so far when it comes to trades. His track record as general manager isn't even two years old yet and he has already traded Chase Claypool, traded up in the 2023 NFL Draft for Broderick Jones, traded back in the draft to recoup capital, traded for Allen Robinson II, traded Kendrick Green, and traded Kevin Dotson.

Pittsburgh's draft selections are subject to change, and we will have the exact overall selection for each pick once the NFL announces the compensatory picks this offseason.
