The first round of the 2024 NFL Draft has just come to a close and the Steelers have gotten better. It was a busy night that saw prospects have their dreams become reality. Everyone wants to be a first-round pick, but only 32 names can have that luxury. Day 2 of the NFL Draft has been successful for the Steelers in the past and they hope to keep that going.

After the Steelers selected Troy Fautanu with their top pick in the draft, they still have plenty of holes to fill. Day two presents a new challenge to fill those voids on the roster with quality rookies. Expect Pittsburgh to lean towards certain positions like center, defensive line, linebacker, cornerback, and wide receiver).

It should be another exciting night as each team tries to get better during the night.

WR Malachi Corley would make a ton of sense for Steelers

Receiver remains a top priority for the Steelers after they were unable to take one in the first round. This is a deep group of prospects for the position. There are tons of talented wide receivers still available heading into day two of the draft, but circle Malachi Corley's name. He had a ton of pre-draft interest with the Steelers and would be a great fit with the club.

Pittsburgh could target CB Andru Phillips

Some rumors stated the black and gold could go cornerback in round one. That rumor did not materialize into reality. One name who would make sense in round two for the Steelers is Andru Philips out of Kentucky. He had some pre-draft interest from Pittsburgh and can play both outside and in the slot. He could provide competition to both areas on the depth chart.

Steelers must consider trading up for C Zach Frazier

After the Steelers announced their first-round selection, you could hear the fans screaming about the need at center. We know they need an upgrade there, but there are still some available on day two that could make sense. The obvious is Zach Frazier. The Steelers would need to trade up to have a shot at selecting him. Frazier makes the most sense and would fit in Pittsburgh like a glove.

Steelers have expressed interest in DL Maason Smith

Defensive line wasn't expected to be addressed by the black and gold on night one of the 2024 NFL Draft. That was clear, but there remains a need to provide better depth and a younger group at the position. Maason Smith is someone who will be considered by the Steelers with any of their three picks on day two. He has a ton of potential and could develop into a star.

LB Junior Colson is a potential Day 2 Steelers pick

No one was expecting the Steelers to take a linebacker in round one, especially with a weaker class this year. With that said, someone like Junior Colson on day two could be a viable option for the team. They added Patrick Queen, but they need a plan behind the likes of Cole Holcomb and Elandon Roberts. Colson had a pre-draft visit with the black and gold and could be a top target.

Steelers could target CB Mike Sainristil

Slot cornerback remains an area of focus for the Steelers. There are still plenty of guys who can provide snaps in the slot, but those players need to provide quality options. Mike Sainristil is one of the top cornerbacks in this draft class. He has been compared to Mike Hilton. it would make a ton of sense for the Steelers to target Sainristil on day two of the 2024 NFL Draft.
