Organized Team Activities and mandatory minicamp got fans excited for the upcoming season, but it's really going to feel like football once the Hall of Fame Game takes place to mark the start of another eventful season in the National Football League.
This is a tradition that dates back to 1962 that first celebrated the groundwork of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton Ohio. Fans can be thankful that the Hall of Fame Game is still going strong in 2024 as we get set to usher in a new season.

The 2024 Hall of Fame Game will take place on August 1 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Tickets for this event are on sale now on the Pro Football Hall of Fame website. This contest will air nationally on ESPN and ABC.
Which NFL teams will be playing in the 2024 Hall of Fame Game?
The 2024 Hall of Fame Game will be a matchup between the Houston Texans and the Chicago Bears. This battle between uncommon opponents features young quarterbacks
Where does the Hall of Fame Game take place?
This exhibition contest between the Texans and Bears will be played on a neutral field at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, so there is no home or away team. This stadium has a maximum capacity of 23,000.
Other information about the Hall of Fame Game
The Hall of Fame Game serves as the NFL preseason opener; however, this technically is not considered Week 1 of the preseason. This exhibition matchup will be the only game played during the first week of August. Week 1 of the preseason will open with Panthers vs. Patriots and Lions vs. Giants on Thursday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Because the Texans and Bears are the two teams playing in the 2024 Hall of Fame Game, they will be the only teams that will have four exhibition matchups in August before the start of the regular season. The remaining 30 teams will each play just three preseason games.
