NFL Week 2 Predictions: Aaron Rodgers bounces back, Steelers brave Mile High
In Week 1, I went 13-3 in our picks series and even got a perfect score prediction in the Chicago-Tennessee game. We're back for Week 2 hoping to keep up a strong record.
How teams respond in Week 2 can set them up for great success or see them flounder out of the gates. Let's see which teams come out on top in Week 2.
Thursday Night
Buffalo Bills @ Miami Dolphins
The Bills and Dolphins both had to squeeze out a tough win in Week 1 and now head into their first divisional matchup. Miami getting the home benefit and is playing with a ton of pride.
Winner: Dolphins, 31-27
Sunday Early Window
New Orleans Saints @ Dallas Cowboys
The Saints made a fool out of me, but the Dallas Cowboys will not be giving up 47 points on Sunday. Dallas's defense will be too much for the Saints.
Winner: Cowboys, 24-10
Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Detroit Lions
Another playoff rematch for the Detroit Lions. Last year the Lions won a tough opening contest against the Chiefs before losing a heartbreaker against the Seahawks. They won't repeat history in 2024.
Winner: Lions, 30-24
Indianapolis Colts @ Green Bay Packers
The Green Bay Packers looked great against the Eagles despite the loss. But without Jordan Love, they will stumble against an exciting Colts team.
Winner: Colts, 27-3
New York Jets @ Tennessee Titans
The Titans found every way possible to lose to the Bears. They won't have to try so hard against the Jets, who badly need a rebound win.
Winner: Jets, 23-7
San Francisco 49ers @ Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings looked stronger than expected against the lowly Giants. But the 49ers picked up right where they left off last year.
Winner: 49ers, 24-10
Seattle Seahawks @ New England Patriots
The Patriots shocked the NFL landscape with a victory over the Bengals. I expect they'll play closely with the Seahawks, but the Seahawks are well-versed in winning ugly games.
Winner: Seahawks 17-13
New York Giants @ Washington Commanders
Washington shows promise while the Giants look atrocious. New York will need a lot of rookie mistakes from Jayden Daniels to have a shot.
Winner: Commanders, 20-7
Los Angeles Chargers @ Carolina Panthers
The Panthers were given a rude awakening to the NFL season. Carolina doesn't get a breather in Week 2.
Winner: Chargers, 31-13
Cleveland Browns @ Jacksonville Jaguars
The Browns have a quarterback problem, so any success will come via the defense until Nick Chubb returns. The Jags will need to play soundly on offense to keep away from the upset.
Winner: Jaguars, 18-13
Las Vegas Raiders @ Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens fell into the same trap against Kansas City, foregoing the run to play catchup on the scoreboard. The Raiders won't pose the same threat.
Winner: Ravens, 27-14
Sunday Late Window
Los Angeles Rams @ Arizona Cardinals
The Rams won't be at full strength offensively, but the Cardinals still have some team building to get through early in the season.
Winner: Rams, 20-10
Cincinnati Bengals @ Kansas City Chiefs
It doesn't appear the Bengals are ready to stand up to Kansas City as they have in years past. With even more offensive firepower, Cincinnati won't be able to keep up.
Winner: Chiefs, 30-13
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos
Bo Nix struggled against Seattle and now gets TJ Watt and the Steelers. He's sure to show some of the same flashes of promise, but it won't be enough.
Winner: Steelers, 20-13
Sunday Night
Chicago Bears @ Houston Texans
Chicago showed in Week 1 that it will take some time for the offense to mesh around first-overall pick Caleb Williams. The Texans went through that process quickly last year, giving them a leg up.
Winner: Texans, 24-10
Monday Night
Atlanta Falcons @ Philadelphia Eagles
The Falcons are still gelling on offense, so they'll be a step behind. Whether or not you believe in Kirk Cousins in primetime, he'll still give a good game against a talented Eagles roster.
Winner: Eagles, 31-28
