6. Steelers still need linebacker help

Pittsburgh wasn't about to run it back at the linebacker position in 2023. After abysmal performances from what was arguably the worst collective group of off-ball linebackers in the NFL last year, Khan decided to essentially wipe the slate clean -- cutting Myles Jack and allowing Devin Bush and Robert Spillane to walk away in free agency.

By doing so, the team brought in former Commanders LB Cole Holcomb and former Dolphins LB Elandon Roberts. Both players are fiery competitors and former team captains. Sadly, we shouldn't consider the Steelers to be done here yet.

While Holcomb is an athlete in space, he's not an elite coverage linebacker (though he should be an improvement over what Pittsburgh had here). Meanwhile, Roberts is a downhill thumper with some ability to run and chase and take on blocks. However, when it comes to coverage, he's going to offer almost nothing.

The Steelers are still lacking a nickel linebacker who can be counted on to be proficient in passing situations. The two additions should be improvements and should give Pittsburgh some flexibility early in the draft, but I would still bet on a linebacker being addressed in the mid-rounds.
