3. Steelers defensive tackle help

An expensive interior defender market in free agency forced Pittsburgh to pay a bit more than they would have liked to in order to retain Larry Ogunjobi. Though the Steelers could do much worse than the Cameron Heyward and Ogunjobi pairing in the middle of their defensive line, the depth is greatly lacking.

Just a few years back, this team had Stephon Tuitt in the prime of his career and Tyson Alualu playing at a very high level. However, Tuitt is retired and Alualu could be joining him after a poor season. It's also worth noting that both Alualu and Chris Wormley are unrestricted free agents (and Wormley is still rehabbing from an ACL tear.

DeMarvin Leal could offer more as an interior pass rusher in year two, but the Steelers still need depth in a big way -- primarily at the nose tackle position. Though Montravius Adams is still currently under contract, he was very underwhelming in 2022.

I wouldn't be shocked to see the Steelers take an interior as early as pick 17 in the 2023 NFL Draft. If they don't, I would almost expect one with one of their three picks on day two.
