5 most hated rival players Steelers fans love to hate
By Ryan Heckman
Ed Reed
Yet another former Raven makes this list because, well, he was just too good. Former Baltimore safety Ed Reed will go down as one of the greatest to ever play the position, and he and that Ravens defense certainly had their share of intense battles over the years.
Reed played the Steelers a total of 18 times during his career with the Ravens, and he totaled 60 solo tackles, a sack, four fumble recoveries, and six interceptions.
Years after his retirement Reed would go on record with Dan Patrick and recall some of his memories in regard to the rivalry between the Ravens and Steelers.
"They had some dirty players over there," Reed said to Patrick, referring to the Steelers. "And that's how they played the game."
Reed talked about how those Steelers and Bengals matchups were some of the dirtiest he had seen in that era, and that the way Pittsburgh played in those games tended to bleed into their own matchups.
Whether or not you agree with Reed's sentiment, one thing remains to be true: Steelers fans don't like the guy. He was a phenomenal player, but not well-liked amongst the black and gold.
