2. The Steelers get huge cornerback help in Jaylon Johnson
The Chicago Bears are a team that very well could be looking at major changes in this coming 2024 offseason. Before the season, cornerback Jaylon Johnson wanted a new contract. The sides couldn't come to an agreement, but Johnson is playing out the final year of his rookie deal regardless.
Cornerback is a position of great need for the Steelers through five weeks. None of the three starters have played particularly well, to be frank. Fans have been clamoring for rookie Joey Porter Jr. to take over for Levi Wallace, but for some reason, the coaching staff has yet to make that move.
Even if Porter gets the nod eventually, Pittsburgh is still hurting. Trading for one of the top-10 graded cornerbacks (via Pro Football Focus) could absolutely do the trick. Johnson could also be a long-term option opposite Porter for the Steelers, giving them a strong one-two punch at corner.
Through Week 5, Johnson is having the best year of his career, allowing just 45.5 percent completion and giving up an opposing quarterback rating of 57.4. He also has yet to give up a touchdown. Now, he has only played three games and has missed time due to injury. But, he has still played high level football when healthy.
