The Steelers and Cowboys are getting ready to square off in an out-of-conference matchup between two storied franchises, and Sunday Night Football in Week 5 should be a treat for nostalgic fans who watched these teams battle it out in the 90s.

These two teams come into this game with different scenarios. Dallas is at an even 2-2 record through four weeks of play. They have not been able to find consistency and are now dealing with their own injury problems. Still, the Cowboys have plenty of ways to win a football game as Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb are a lethal combo who can help them will their way to victory on Sunday Night Football.

Pittsburgh is coming off its first loss of the year, which saw them play sloppy in almost every facet as a team. They will try to bounce back, but they will have trouble against a Dallas team that has been able to stay in tight games. Prescott seems to be the biggest challenge yet regarding opposing quarterbacks the Steelers have faced during the early portion of their schedule.

A lot goes into this prediction as you have to try and situate which matchups could best affect the outcome of this game. The Cowboys enter this contest coming off a win on a Thursday night, so they had a couple extra days of rest.

The Steelers are coming off a loss that might have exposed their defense. Pittsburgh already seems behind the eight-ball heading into this game.

Pittsburgh vs Dallas Week 5 prediction: Steelers 21, Cowboys 18

Try not to completely overreact to the Steeler's loss last week. Sometimes bad games happen. Dallas will be a big test for Pittsburgh. Sunday Night Football provides a different atmosphere and that should add some extra oomph to this game. Don't expect the defense to play as poorly as they did against the Colts last time around. They should be out to prove something.

Prescott might not be considered a top five quarterback, but he is still a quality player who could expose parts of a defense. His run ability is something that could extend drives for the Cowboys. Dallas's offense has shown glimpses of prior greatness, but they have struggled to start the year. Mix that with a Pittsburgh defense that has been good as a whole, and that increases the Steeler's chances.

Justin Fields had a terrific game against the Colts, but he still needs to clean up his mistakes. The Cowboys will likely be without two-star defensive players in this one, but Trevon Diggs remains a turnover machine at cornerback. Pittsburgh will have to be careful about turning the ball over in this game. They just lost to the Colts who were missing starters on both sides of the ball.

As long as Fields continues the progression that he has shown to start the season, then it will set the Steelers up for success. Pittsburgh's defense shouldn't be nearly as bad as last week, and they are going up against a young offensive line for the most part. It is going to be a tight game but expect Fields to seal the win this time with a fourth-quarter drive for a touchdown.
