4. Geoff Swaim is likely an upgrade over Zach Gentry

Since the Steelers have placed such an emphasis on the rushing attack, we know how important run-blocking is to them. Despite Zach Gentry's massive frame (6'8'', 265 pounds) he actually graded out poorly as both a run-blocker and pass-blocker last season in the TE2 role for the Steelers. On the other hand, Geoff Swaim has been one of the better blocking tight ends since entering the league as a member of the Dallas Cowboys back in 2015.

Over the past three seasons, Swaim has been an in-line blocker for the Tennessee Titans where he has helped pave the way for Derrick Henry on the ground. Swaims run-block grade ranked 22nd among all tight ends last season.

Like Kroft, Swaim has eight years of experience under his belt and he has actually developed into a starter late in his career. Over the past three seasons, Swaim has started 37 of the 43 games he has appeared in for Tennessee.

Swaim was young entering the NFL, so he will still be just 29 years as the season begins, so he still has a few good years left in the tank. Because he has been such a consistent blocker throughout his career, he would likely give the Steelers an upgrade at TE2 at an affordable price.
