Steelers-Texans trade

The Steelers and Texans have a trade to announce on day two of the draft

Day two of the draft kicks off and Pittsburgh has a couple of players on the board with first-round grades. Both centers are still available at this point in the draft, and it could be a reasonable expectation for them to move up to select either Jackson Powers-Johnson or Zach Frazier. They decided to make a trade with Houston to move up nine slots and only had to swap some picks in the process. They shock most and take a playmaker.

Ladd McConkey. 2. McConkey. Wide receiver. Ladd McConkey. 527. . player. .

Steelers mock draft round 2: Ladd McConkey, WR, Georgia

You are either going to love or hate this pick. Not only did they neglect a giant hole at center, but they traded up for a receiver. The future starter opposite of George Pickens might be an even bigger hole right now than center. Both need to be situated, but Pittsburgh loves to get their favorite receivers through the draft. They move up and take Ladd McConkey out of Georgia.

This makes back-to-back Bulldogs to kick off this draft class as Mike Tomlin and Omar Khan love the players coming out of that program. The best thing about this move is that the Steelers didn't have to sell the farm to move up for this player. Shockingly, McConkey fell this far in this mock draft as many have him being a first-round value.

The Black and Gold are getting a receiver with inside and outside potential who runs routes better than anyone coming out of college. He is an athletic freak who put on a show at the NFL Combine. Again, we know the top brass of the Steelers were at Georgia's pro day. It would be shocking if the team didn't select a player coming out of that program.
