Steelers mock draft round 4: Cam Hart, CB, Notre Dame

With Donte Jackson coming back in the Diontae Johnson deal with Carolina, he will be a starter. Some have floated the idea of him playing inside rather than outside, but it seems like the Steelers will want him as the opposite outside starting cornerback of Joey Porter Jr. Jackson is a proven starter in this league, but he has been put in tough positions that saw him struggle.

Cornerback remains a main focus heading into the draft going forward. The Steelers will either have a void at the starting outside corner or in the slot based on where they place Jackson. Flexibility at the position might be the best way to go for Pittsburgh in the draft. Corner will be placed on the back burner when it comes to immediate needs in the upcoming draft unless someone falls to them early on.

It seems like this spot is where they are most likely to address the position. Cam Hart is someone who the Steelers have expressed interest in during the pre-draft process thus far. He has good size for a corner and should be someone who adjusts to the NFL well. Again, position flexibility might be the main attraction for Pittsburgh when they take a corner.

Hart could play outside and inside at the next level. His size would seemingly make him a better fit on the outside, but he has shown that he can play almost anywhere in the secondary during his collegiate career.

Hart is great value here and is someone who has enjoyed a quality pre-draft process. The Steelers get a starting option to round out the fourth round.
