Steelers mock draft round 3 (via Cardinals): Malachi Corley, WR, Western Kentucky

A lot of news is coming out of the NFL Combine this week, but one of the most notable things is the number of high-end receiver prospects they are meeting with. The Steelers don't have a dire need at receiver right now, but in this offseason scenario, they do. If they trade away Johnson, then they need to address that by drafting a young guy.

They did sign Boyd earlier in free agency, which is great to take some heat off of the position. The veteran would be better off in the slot rather than on the outside. Pittsburgh knows this, so they decide to invest a high pick on taking a receiver. They use their top third-round choice from the Johnson deal to take Malachi Corley out of Western Kentucky.

He is someone who can play all over the field for the Steelers offense. He has a Deebo Samuel build. His game is something that would only bring excitement and options to their otherwise stale offense. Losing Johnson hurts, but having guys who can control the middle of the field will only give this offensive attack more options.

Corley is a tough receiver and could remind some of Hines Ward or JuJu Smith-Schuster in some ways. He is not afraid of contact and fighting for extra yardage. He is quality value at this point in the draft. With the Steelers showing a ton of interest in receivers early in the pre-draft process, they will likely try and take one within the first three rounds.
