Steelers 2024 schedule release date rumors, leaks, opponents and more

With the fallout of the 2024 NFL Draft dying down, the excitement for the 2024 NFL schedule release is amping up. Though we've known since January which opponents every NFL team will be facing this year, we don't know the order in which their games will be played.

When the 2024 NFL schedule drops, fans will be looking to see where their favorite team's hardest stretch of games will come when their bye week will be, and when they will face their toughest opponents.

Along with examining the schedule and predicting wins and losses, fans are also excited to see what the social media teams for each franchise will come up with as they find a creative way to unveil their schedule on social media platforms.

As we prep for the schedule release, here is the confirmed announcement date as well as every 2024 NFL schedule leak and rumor we know about.

2024 NFL Schedule release date

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed that the 2024 NFL schedule will be announced on Wednesday, May 15th at 8:00 p.m. Easter Time. You can follow along with the biggest schedule storylines and full release on NFL Network.

2024 NFL schedule leaks and rumors

Thursday Night Football opener in Kansas City

We know that the Chiefs will be hosting the opening game on Thursday night in Week 1, but we still don't know which opponent they will be playing. Kansas City's home schedule consists of the Ravens, Bengals, Texans, Saints, and Buccaneers, as well as their divisional rivals (Broncos, Chargers, Raiders). This gives the league plenty of options to choose from.

Update: The Chiefs will host the Baltimore Ravens for the season opener, via ESPN's Adam Schefter. The game will be played on September 5th at 8:20 p.m. ET and will air on NBC and Peacock.

International games in Brazil, London, and Munich

The NFL is set to host a game in Brazil for the first time in 2024. This game will be Eagles vs. Packers (Philadelphia is listed as the home team). It will air exclusively on Peacock on Friday, September 6th in Week 1. The NFL will also have a total of four games played in Europe this year (three in London and one in Germany). The Bears, Jaguars, and Vikings will serve as home teams in London, while the Panthers will be listed as the home team for the second-ever NFL game in Munich.

Update: The Eagles will play the Packers on Friday, September 6th in Sao Paulo Brazil, per Adam Schefter. This will be the second NFL game on the schedule for Week 1.

Christmas double-header

The NFL will host a double-headed on Christmas Day in 2024. December 25th falls on a Wednesday this year. We still don't know which four teams will be playing on Christmas or the exact times of the games.

Steelers 2024 schedule rumors

Here are all of the Steelers schedule rumors and leaks we know of so far.

• Steelers @ Falcons Week 1 - Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan speculates that the Steelers will be on the road against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 1.
• Steelers @ Broncos Week 1 (debunked) - We question the validity of this source as it came from Antonio Brown's CTESPN account on 'X'. Brown claims he had a call with a 'direct source' and is hearing that the NFL has shifted and wants Steelers at Broncos for Sunday Night Football for the Russell Wilson revenge game. Brown has since deleted the post.
• Steelers @ Falcons Week 1 - Multiple sources tell Zach Klein of WSB-TV that the Falcons will host the Steelers for their opening game in Atlanta.
• Steelers vs. Jets Week 7 - Jets podcaster Matt O'Leary claims the Steelers will host the New York Jets on Sunday Night Football in Week 7.
• Steelers vs. Giants Week 8 - Art Stapleton of USA Today is hearing the Giants will travel to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers on Monday Night Football on October 28th.
• Steelers vs. Chiefs Week 17 - Another Steelers schedule 'leak' from Andrew Fillipponi suggests the Steelers will host the Kansas City Chiefs on Christmas Day in Week 17 of the 2024 NFL season.
