Steelers mock draft round 4 (via LAR): Jordan Jefferson, DT, LSU

Something the Pittsburgh Steelers' roster has been lacking for the longest time is a true nose tackle -- someone who can absorb double teams and allow linebackers to knife and make plays. Jordan Jefferson would offer exactly that.

At 6'2 3/4'' and 313 pounds, Jefferson has a thick frame to eat up blocks, and he's hard to move off the ball. While he isn't going to offer much in terms of getting after the quarterback (just 6.0 sacks in five seasons), his niche is strong enough to bet on.

It's also worth noting that Jefferson spent his first four college seasons at West Virginia, so the Steelers have gotten a good look at him in the past. However, it's nice to see his best tape come in 2023 against a hard schedule while on LSU.

Jefferson wouldn't be a full-time player on Pittsburgh's offensive line and he's not the guy who is going to pair as a one-two punch with Keeanu Benton for the long haul. Still, his size and run-stopping ability will offer value to this team. He would step right in on early downs as a rookie for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024.
