Steelers Day 3 picks: When does Pittsburgh pick next?
By Tommy Jaggi
Day 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft has wrapped up, and Pittsburgh Steelers fans already have a lot to look forward to. After snagging OT Troy Fautanu in Round 1, Omar Khan loaded up in the second and third rounds on talented prospects like C Zach Frazier, WR Roman Wilson, and LB Payton Wilson.
Though the most anticipated portion of the NFL Draft is behind us, we aren't yet halfway through when it comes to the number of picks that still need to be made.
On Day 3 of the NFL Draft, we will see fast-paced action and try to keep up as picks quickly flood in. The final day of the draft will consist of Rounds 4-7, and Pittsburgh will be looking for some late-round gems to add to their roster.
Last year, Steelers fans were thrilled when they snatched Wisconsin edge rusher Nick Herbig in Round 4, and Purdue CB Cory Trice Jr. was by far the best player on the consensus board when they made their selection in the seventh round.
There are still plenty of talented players who slipped past Day 2 and could be selected early on Day 3. Here's every draft pick the Pittsburgh Steelers have remaining.
Steelers Day 3 draft picks
- Round 4, pick 119 overall
- Round 6, pick 178 overall (via ARI)
- Round 6, pick 195 overall
While the top 100 selections have already been made on the first two days of the draft, pick 119 could prove to be a valuable selection for the Pittsburgh Steelers early on Day 3. Omar Khan and the front office have had some time to go back to their drawing board, and they will be able to snatch one of their 19 favorite players remaining today.
The Steelers don't have a fifth-round pick, as this was sent to the Rams as part of the Kevin Dotson pick-swap trade last year. In Round 6, Pittsburgh is scheduled to select twice, as they own pick 178 and pick 195. Both selections fall in the top half of the sixth round when you factor in compensatory picks.
With only three total selections entering Day 3 of the 2024 NFL Draft, don't be surprised if the Steelers look to trade back to recoup more draft capital. We will be waiting anxiously to see if they can put an exclamation point on their 2024 draft class.
