The Steelers re-sign some of their own before Free Agency starts

According to Spotrac's numbers, the Steelers will have roughly 60 million to use in free agency. That is a big chunk of change, but they must re-sign some of their pending free agents first. There are not too many pressing free agents to bring back, but the club starts this portion of the mock offseason by re-signing Miles Killebrew. He inks a new three-year contract.

He has been one of the best special teams members for Pittsburgh since he arrived, and that deserves another contract with the club. He didn't cost too much either. Speaking of special teams, the black and gold re-sign Christian Kuntz to a one-year extension. The long snapper signs for under a million bucks for next season. His position will never break the bank.

With there being concerns at slot cornerback again, the Steelers re-sign Chandon Sullivan to another one-year deal. He probably shouldn't be your starting slot corner, but he is a good depth piece. Ideally, he would battle with a rookie in training camp for the starting spot. Sullivan would be a solid depth piece that provides significant experience with his resume.

The last up in the re-signing portion, before free agency starts, is Armon Watts. He was nothing more than a depth player for the Steelers this past season, but he was effective when he saw snaps go his way. With Ogunjobi gone, it is a good idea to keep some veteran depth pieces around as insurance. Watts played well and that gives him another one-year deal around a million bucks.
