Steelers could get better with Oshane Ximines

One of the Steelers more underrated needs right now is a capable backup edge rusher. While they have a pair of dominant starters, there isn’t a great option behind them. Quality backups can easily play 25-30 percent of the defensive snaps in rotation, and if the Steelers have shown that they need a capable third name due to injuries the past two years.

While there were other backup edge rushers I liked more, Oshane Ximines is the best remaining fit for this team. The former third-round pick never got established as a starter with the Giants and he struggled with injury when starting, but he has an array of pass-rushing moves and should be a great fit as a third edge rusher for any team.

Though a lot of fans want a reunion with Bud Dupree, he is older, will likely be more expensive, and he doesn’t play special teams. Ximines can wear a few different hats and provide the Steelers with some solid pass rush if they need it later on. He would be a savvy addition to this depth chart.
