Steelers could find some burst with Isaiah McKenzie

As stated earlier, slot receiver is a position that is lacking for this offense, as the expectation right now is that Austin will slot right in and make an instant impact. While I mentioned Crowder as a potential low-cost fill-in, fellow former Bills receiver Isaiah McKenzie could also be a logical addition with a bit more upside.

McKenzie isn’t a huge get for a team. He has never been a primary receiver and can only work out of the slot. While he has some burst and speed, he also isn’t a homerun threat. What he can provide is decent route running, a good pair of hands, and the ability to make defenders miss in space.

Add in his impressive ability to get into the endzone and you have a great slot receiver that can be mixed in for this offense. Add in his ability as a returner and adding him to the roster makes sense. He can be the primary starting slot receiver and if he gets replaced for Austin, he can still add value as a return man.
