The Pittsburgh Steelers did not fare well when they lost T.J. Watt for the first half of the 2022 season. Unfortunately, their string of bad luck when it comes to health ensued early in 2023. Already this year, the Steelers have been without several of their best players including Cameron Heyward, Minkah Fitzpatrick, Diontae Johnson, and Pat Freiermuth.
Linebacker Cole Holcomb was the latest Steelers player to land on IR. Unfortunately, his 2023 season is done after suffering a catastrophic knee injury against the Titans last week on Thursday Night Football. Pittsburgh will turn to a heavy dose of Kwon Alexander and Elandon Roberts in his absence.
The Steelers are lacing up to host the Green Bay Packers at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Both teams dealt with numerous injuries throughout practice this week. Here's the official Steelers inactive list for Week 10 against the Packers today.
Steelers inactives list vs. Packers in Week 10:
- No. 2 QB Mason Rudolph (3rd QB)
- No. 21 CB Darius Rush
- No. 39 FS Minkah Fitzpatrick
- No. 48 RB Godwin Igwebuike
- No. 57 DT Montravius Adams
- No. 60 T Dylan Cook
- No. 96 NT Breiden Fehoko
The rib ailment for Kenny Pickett did not cause him to miss any game action on Thursday night, nor did it force him to miss any practice time during the week. Mason Rudolph will once again act as the emergency QB3 who can only be elevated from the inactive list if both Pickett and Mitch Trubisky were to go down with injuries.
Minkah Fitzpatrick missed Pittsburgh's Week 9 game against the Titans with a hamstring injury. The All-Pro safety missed practice early this week and isn't able to go for today's game. Joining him on the sidelines will be rookie CB Darius Rush. Montravius Adams and Godwin Igwebuike are also inactive this week.
Just like last week, OT Dylan Cook and NT Breiden Fehoko will be healthy scratches for the Pittsburgh Steelers this afternoon. When Pittsburgh placed Cole Holcomb on IR, they elevated RB Anthony McFarland Jr. to the roster. McFarland has dealt with a knee issue, but he could see his first actions since Week 1.
Meanwhile, the Packers had 9 players -- most of whom are starters -- land on the Week 10 injury report, and four of these players did not participate in practice to begin the week. Green Bay will be without two of their best defenders in LB Quay Walker and CB Jaire Alexander. Neither player was able to log so much as a limited practice throughout the week.
Though these are two uncommon opponents facing each other today from opposite conferences, the Steelers need a win to keep themselves alive in a crowded AFC North, while the Packers are looking to avoid dropping to 2-6 and falling further back in the NFC race. This is a big game for both teams. Stay tuned!
