Steelers Mock Draft: Omar Khan salivates over 2024 quarterback class

Steelers mock draft round 2: Sedrick Van Pran, C, Georgia
The Steelers have to be satisfied with the Georgia offensive lineman they took early in the draft last year. Why not pair Broderick Jones with his old teammate, Sedrick Van Pran? Van Pran is a two-year starter at Georgia and he has played in 28 games over the past two seasons.
Listed at 6'4'' and 310 pounds, Van Pran has solid size and good strength for the position. Had he entered the draft last April he would have been in contention with Joe Tippman and John Michael Schmitz to be the first center off the board. However, going back to school for one more year could prove to be the right choice, as he could be off the board early.
Obviously, the Pittsburgh Steelers are desperate for an upgrade at the center position. Mason Cole simply hasn't gotten the job done and has been a liability in the middle of the offensive line more often than not. This has made center arguably the biggest need for Pittsburgh this year.
Van Pran is good enough to be thrust into a starting role from Day 1 and be an instant upgrade over Cole at center. Georgia has a good track record when it comes to high-profile offensive linemen, and Sedrick Van Pran is just what the doctor ordered.
