Steelers mock draft: Pittsburgh fills in the gaps after free agency frenzy

Steelers mock draft round 4: DT Zacch Pickens
The Steelers would love to find their next Cameron Heyward or Stephon Tuitt, but those body types don't grow on trees. Instead, they will have to settle for Zach Pickens -- who is much more in the mold of current DT Larry Ogunjobi.
Pittsburgh inked Ogunjobi to a sizeable three-year, $28.75 million deal in the first week of free agency as the market blew up for interior defenders. While Larry 'O' will be a pretty big part of the defensive line rotation moving forward, they still need some massive depth upgrades.
Tyson Alualu has likely played his last football, and he was pretty awful in 2022. Meanwhile, Montravius Adams is still on the team, but isn't guarenteed to stick around if there are better options. It's also worth noting that Chris Wormely suffered a torn ACL late in the season and is an unrestricted free agent.
It stands to reason that Heyward and Ogunjobi are going to carve out a ton of snaps on the defenive interior in 2023 with last year's rookie third-rounder, DeMarvin Leal, getting into the mix as well. Pittsburgh still greatly lacks depth on the IDL, and Pickens could be a rotational player right away with a chance to develop into something more.
