Steelers mock draft round 2 (via CHI): OT Dawand Jones

One school we know the Pittsburgh Steelers have loved on the past is Ohio State... and it's not hard to see why. The Buckeyes routinely produce impressive NFL talent as the best program in the Big Ten, and the Steelers have had past success with players like Cameron Heyward and Ryan Shazier.

Dawand Jones has been a player linked to Pittsburgh since the beginning. Though he doesn't fit the nimble, athletic profile of the players currently on the roster, Andy Weidl and OL coach Pat Meyer could be looking to go in a different direction.

Pittsburgh's brass had a pro day dinner meeting with Jones during the pre-draft process, and they also brought the mammoth offensive tackle in for a 30-visit. At 6'8' 1/4'' and 374 pounds with a remarkable 87 7/8'' wingspan, Jones has a rare frame that could help him stick around as a starting right tackle for a long time.

The biggest issue with Jones might be keeping his weight under control. The Steelers wouldn't be getting a player who is athletic in space, but he would help keep the pocket clean for Kenny Pickett. There is clearly a lot of interest here from the organization.
