Steelers mock draft round 4: DT Jaquelin Roy

Jaquelin Roy isn't a player the Steelers have expressed much interest in during the pre-draft process. However, it's clear -- based on their visits -- that beefing up the interior defensive line will be a priority in the 2023 NFL Draft.

The Steelers met with run-stuffers like Baylor's Siaki Ika as well as more versitile defensive tackles like Florida's Gervon Dexter and Wisconsin's Keeanu Benton. But if they wait this long to address the DT position, they players that we think Pittsburgh could target will be gone.

At this point, Roy becomes the best of the group and fills a big position of need at nose tackle. He could come in and compete from day one with Montravius Adams and newly-signed free agent, Breiden Fehoko.

Roy is not very versatile and doesn't offer much as a pass-rusher. However, his run defense will be a valued trait and the Steelers could ignore the fact that they didn't meet with him prior to the NFL Draft.
