Steelers mock draft round 7: Fabien Lovett, DT Florida State

The Steelers were exposed on the interior defensive line this year without Cameron Heyward in the lineup for the first half of the season. While Keeanu Benton certainly looks the part and has the potential to be a future star for this team, Pittsburgh still needs more beef in the middle of their defense -- particularly in run support.

Players like Montravius Adams, Larry Ogunjobi, Armon Watts, and DeMarvin Leal haven't been getting the job done as effectively as the Steelers would like, and they could bring in someone else to compete. This team also hasn't had a true nose tackle in years. That's where Fabien Lovett comes in.

At 6'4'' and 315 pounds, Lovett has excellent size and power for the position. During his fiv-year college career at Florida State, he has never recorded more than 2.0 sacks in a season. However, that's because his focus is on shutting down the running game.

Lovett won't often flash on tape like Keeanu Benton, but they could use this type of player on their roster. Perhaps he could stick around and make the squad as a backup nose tackle for Pittsburgh. At this point, you are throwing a dart on the all and hoping it sticks.
