Steelers mock draft round 2: OT Darnell Wright

Sticking to the Weidl strategy, the Steelers continue to target the trenches in this mock. They land the massive Darnell Wright, a name they have been linked to already and who could play multiple spots on the line long-term. I had concerns about Wright as an athlete, but he showed better-than-expected speed for a player of his size.

Because of this, Wright could stick at tackle at the next level, although he would be a better right tackle than a left due to his ability as a run blocker. That said, and I believe the Steelers view him as such, Wright could be a great guard. He has the size that the team likes and seems to have the athleticism to move in space.

Wright can potentially fill in at multiple spots and has the looks of a pro lineman. He can start at right tackle if the team wants and see if he can stick at tackle. Or, if the team wants to get rid of Kevin Dotson, Wright could kick inside and likely start for quite some time. He tested as an elite interior lineman, so his best fit may be at guard moving forward.
