Steelers should be watching Dawand Jones

Dawand Jones is essentially the opposite of why the Steelers should be watching Skoronski. While Skoronski is this refined technician with questions about his size, Jones is a mountain of a man that is hard to get past due to his tremendous size. His technical are hit-and-miss, but his size makes him a rare breed in the NFL.

We already know Jones size is legit, as his Senior Bowl measurements backed the already ludicrous expectations. Now he has the chance to prove he is a capable athlete. No, he won’t be an elite tester, and his speed score won’t be great, but Jones needs to show that he has functional athleticism to go along with his size.

We have seen poor combines tank bigger linemen. Orlando Brown comes to mind as a bigger tackle that tested horribly, and because of that, his stock fell to the third round. Jones doesn’t need to be off the charts, but he needs to move well enough given his size. If he does, he should be on the Steelers radar early in the draft.
