The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off an impressive preseason win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 2 of exhibition action. Prior to making the trip to Atlanta for their preseason finale on Thursday, Antonio Brown has popped back up in the news cycle again (and against all of our wishes).

Mike Tomlin has washed his hands of the former All-Pro receiver and the focus is all about football. We have seen some very encouraging things from this team over the past two weeks, but the most recent news has to do with a headcase and a recent Steelers roster move.

Steelers news:

TMZ reports that an arrest warrant has officially been issued to Antonio Brown... again. This comes after he missed yet another child support payment. This isn't the first time that Brown has had an arrest warrant issued for unpaid child support. In fact, he ran into trouble with the law earlier this year for the exact same reason.

Anything involving Brown and the police is completely believable at this point. Like clockwork, we expect the former star receiver to show back up in the news cycle every couple of months for some negative reason or another.

During the 2023 offseason, Brown refused to pay his area league players their game checks. Brown's football franchise was ultimately removed from the league. Now his second run-in with missing child support payments is just the latest incident in a laundry list of problems for the former Steelers star.

More Steelers news:

In news pertaining much more to the current state of the Pittsburgh Steelers, cornerback Duke Dawson has officially been released from the team, per NFL.com transactions. Dawson suffered a leg injury during the tail end of the first preseason game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Dawson has now been removed from the injured reserve list with an injury settlement and is no longer part of the team. This injury was an unfortunate blow for the former second-round pick trying to finally catch on in the NFL. Early in training camp, Dawson was taking some first-team reps at slot cornerback.

He would have had a chance to compete with Elijah Riley and Chandon Sullivan for a spot on the team and a role on defense in 2023. Now it's unclear if and when another opportunity might come in the NFL.

NFL news:

Recently, Jeff Kerr of CBS Sports wrote an article about 'overreactions and reality checks' from Week 2 of the preseason. One of the topics was the dominance of the Pittsburgh Steelers against the Buffalo Bills. Apparently, Kerr doesn't think their performance was a fluke; he thinks their new-look offense is a reality.

Kerr points to improvement from Kenny Pickett, talented skill players, and an improved offensive line as the reason why the Pittsburgh Steelers will have a top-10 offense in the NFL in 2023. This would be a massive step up from a unit that finished near the bottom of the league just a year ago and managed a dismal 18.1 points per game. Of course, we all hope that Kerr is correct and that a top-10 offense in Pittsburgh becomes a reality.
