Things have been very quiet for the Pittsburgh Steelers since the 2024 NFL Draft. After loading up on talented players for the second straight year under GM Omar Khan, the winds have died down and the Steelers didn't make a big splash with their undrafted free-agent signings.

Trade rumors involving the Steelers have been the biggest topic of discussion, but Khan insists there is nothing in the works. Meanwhile, NFL.com ranks the draft classes of all 32 teams, and a Steelers offensive tackle is mentioned in a hypothetical trade. Here's the latest Steelers news.

NFL.com ranks Steelers draft atop the league

If you thought the Pittsburgh Steelers crushed the 2024 NFL Draft, you're not alone. After receiving the highest consensus draft grades among major media outlets, NFL.com recently ranked all 32 draft classes from best to worst. The Steelers earned the top spot on the list.

Nick Shook of NFL.com praised Omar Khan for his impressive draft haul and valuing the offensive trenches with players like Troy Fautanu, Zach Frazier, and Mason McCormick. He gushed over the value they received Roman Wilson and Payton Wilson selections in the third round. Here's a blurb from the article about Pittsburgh's third-round selections.

"The best pick of this whole class might end up being [Roman] Wilson, a dynamo of a receiver who terrorized defenses while at Michigan. He should complement big-play artist George Pickens quite well, giving Russell Wilson and/or Justin Fields multiple options, especially after the team parted ways with Diontae Johnson. Linebacker Payton Wilson completes Khan’s transformation of Pittsburgh’s defensive second level, and if he can overcome medical concerns, he owns the speed necessary to play sideline-to-sideline on early downs and rocket through the line as a third-down blitzer."

It's hard to argue with the value Pittsburgh found all over the draft. This lands them in the top spot on NFL.com's draft rankings.

PFN discusses trade idea involving Steelers OT Dan Moore Jr.

Recently, Pro Football Network proposed a handful of trade ideas for needy NFL teams. One idea suggested the Commanders trade for Steelers OT Dan Moore Jr.

While Washington took TCU's Brandon Coleman with the 67th overall pick, he might not be ready to start right away, and they could use a temporary starting left tackle. Moore has started all 49 games he has dressed for in his first three NFL seasons.

After taking tackles in the first round in back-to-back drafts with Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu, Moore becomes expendable. PFN's Dallas Robinson predicts the Steelers could get a conditional 2025 sixth-round pick for trading Moore to the Commanders.

Former Bengals WR Tyler Boyd signs with Titans

On May 7th, ESPN Insider Jeremy Fowler reported that WR Tyler Boyd is signing a one-year deal with the Tennessee Titans. Boyd, who played his college ball with the Pitt Panthers, has been a thorn in the side of the Steelers on the Cincinnati Bengals his whole NFL career.

This is one more wide receiver option off the table for Pittsburgh; however, there were reports that Boyd was not going to sign with the Steelers. This is another door officially closed, and Omar Khan will have to look elsewhere if he wants to add a receiver to his 2024 roster.
