Steelers offseason schedule: When are OTAs, mandatory minicamp?

The start of the 2024 regular season won't come until September, but there are plenty of offseason activities that must take place before teams are ready to compete this year. The Pittsburgh Steelers began their voluntary workouts (which are restricted to strength and conditioning). The next two phases will come late in the spring.

Before fans look ahead to Steelers training camp, they must prepare themselves with Organized Team Activities (OTAs) and mandatory veteran minicamp.

OTAs are first on the agenda following the NFL Draft. The Steelers are set to begin OTAs on May 21st, and Organized Team Activities will run through June 6th. From there, players will get a week off before meeting for mandatory minicamp on June 11th. Minicamp lasts just three days.

Unlike Steelers training camp, these offseason activities are closed to the public. Here's the full 2024 OTAs and mandatory minicamp schedule for the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to the team's official site.

Steelers Mandatory Minicamp schedule 2024:

• Tuesday, June 11– Day 1
• Wednesday, June 12 – Day 2
• Thursday, June 13 – Day 3

Outside of seeing where players line up in the pecking order during drills and workouts, there isn't a lot of information we can gain from Organized Team Activities and mandatory minicamp. One thing we will all be hoping to see is that every Steelers player can escape the spring and early summer activities without any major injuries.

NFL training camps will begin late in July. The dates for Steelers training camp have not been announced.
