The 'Very Odd' Files

In the Monday night game, the Steelers had their first pick-six and fumble recovery for a touchdown since 10/25/2009 against the Vikings. What makes this even more particularly odd is that they did this against Cleveland. The last time they did it against Cleveland was 10/16/1983; however, when they did it against Cleveland in 1983, they had accomplished the same feat against the divisional rival Bengals one week earlier on 10/10/1983.

Topping that feat is the fact this has happened eight times in Steelers history with a pick-six and fumble recovery for a touchdown in the same game. Of the eight times it happened, they have done it a total of four times against the Bengals and Browns; of the other four times, two were pre-1970. They did it against Philadelphia in 1965 and against Green Bay in 1967; the other two occurred in 1994 against Buffalo and 2009 against the Vikings.

Not to be outdone, the Steelers have one odd stat against the Raiders. Since 1976, the Steelers are 1-2 on the road when the Raiders have passed for more than 293 yards. The two losing quarterbacks for the Steelers on the road are Ben Roethlisberger in 2018 and Terry Bradshaw in 1976. Thus, Kenny Pickett has the Steelers only road win when the Raiders have passed for over 293 yards.
